New Wes Anderson trailer...

It's really a great time to be alive if you're like me and pine to see great films. By the end of the year I will have seen new works by Fincher, PT Anderson and Wes. And from what I've heard from people who have seen some of the film they say it's amazing 'cause Wes and Roman Coppola (who cowrote the film along witbh Wes and Schwartzman) really went guerilla-style on this one and didn't even see dailies till the film was shot. Fuck! Right?!

Still up finishing freelance that is due this week. I really have nothing to say other than my only friend in the world tonight is iTunes. I tried the most random of experiments tonight and hit 'Random' on the entire library (10,344 songs thank you very much) and some sah-weet gems have been blaring out tonight.

...OOH. Stereolab just came on. It's been fucking ages. Thanks technology!

*ergh* back to work. Thank God he made me an insomniac.

Ratatat + Daft Punk + Lasers + Smoke = greatest thing I've ever seen.
Went and saw th'BIG show tonight at the LA Sports Arena.
I'm in shock and awe of the pure mightiness of DP. Seriously the best thing I will ever see in a live show.

The Return of Greatness!

just got a call from my pal in London who tells me the two greatest TV shows ever made are returning. Both created by Chris Morris. 'Nathan Barley' is going into Season 2 and 'The Brass Eye' will be doing a terrorist special.
If you don't know what these shows are kill yourself now. Do it! Or run screaming to Amoeba and get educated immediately...

so, I just got the most amazing gig designing a record cover for a major label. The artist is somebody I'm so in awe of and I'm super intimidated working on this for her. I guess she got my rough yesterday and hopefully she's happy.

i'm am so fucking tired. between gallery show/freelance/ 9 to 5 I'm on no sleep.
I take alot of pride in doing good work and doing it on time for the various people that depend on me to do that but fuck man... I'm starting to care just a little less every night. Point is. Need to get outta town soon which is looking really good.

Saw this movie in Japan and it kicked my balls in. Honestly animation just doesn't do it for me anymore. I love working on it and drawing it but as an entertainment it's all 'Over the Hedge' to me. But this film made me feel like there's still real things that have yet to be done in this medium. A true piece of art wonderfully told and visualised.
So, check it out this weekend at The Landmark on Pico. You'll be glad you did. I belive it's out on DVD internationally too. Ag! I gotta get to Little Tokyo for some shaved ice and movie purchases.

The Jesus

Took all night to finish. Souther and Sallee were still in the studio when I left at 4 so they're WAY more hardcore than me.
I realized last night how amazing it is to be in my art space. It's like school all over again -working late nights, blaring and sharing music, beer and funny shit being called out constantly over cubicle walls....
Only this group of artists are the most talented people ever as far as I'm concerned. Every single one of them a genius in their own right. Really, I'm just lucky to be surrounded with so much inspiration. This week's been nuts with great fortune and total randomness. See y'all Tuesday, yes?
