went to an amazing show at RedCat last nite. Geoff Mcfetridge is a personal design hero of mine. I went to school with him but barely remember him. My friend Limey Worthington curated the show. Really inspirational stuff. It runs thru April 6th. go now!

R.I.P. Polaroid...
So, it's official. Polaroid is shuttin' down. From Wikipedia...
"In February 2008, Polaroid announced it would cease production of all instant film; the company will shut down three factories and lay off 450 workers.Sales of chemical film by all makers have dropped by at least 25% per year in this decade, and the decline is likely to accelerate. Fujifilm is now the only remaining supplier of instant film in the United States."
so many great memories with this film. it's the only picture media I know of that makes things look the way you remember them. especially people. and everybody looked good thru my Holga lens unlike digital that makes humans look as they really are: sweaty, zitty, full of pores, blochy and skin like Silly Putty. oh well, it was like a great girlfriend who gets run over by a car. I guess we'll always have the pics to remember things by from 2008 (still have some in the fridge) and before. like this girl in Harajuku. . . (sob)

hi there!
so, been a while huh? I've been diligently painting away this week to get this elephant piece done. I'm putting the final detailing on the baby elephant and background. this one took me WAY longer than I planned but it is the biggest piece of the show. here's a sliver...
...next? a ROADRUNNER! so psyched about this one! but before that I need to get drawing at home. I have a few new studio pitches floating 'round my head and everyone seems excited to hear what I have to show them so that feels nice to know before I get drawing. so, for you dear reader that probably means drawing something for the blog. ergh! (sorry again).
um, other than that went to the 2001 screening at the Cineramadome last week. so amazing seeing it on the screen it was intended to be shown on. fucking awesome! got so sentimaental I had to take an iPhone pic (below) moviegoing has been amazing this month: Cloverfield/Rambo/Space Oddysey. great stuff.
AND I get to see a screening of The Signal this week, a film I've been excited to see for over a year now. check it...
hmmm, other than that went on a massive hike last week up Runyon Canyon and took Bucket along. he was a total dick/toughguy to every dog that went bye but was an amazing hiker. neither of us were sore the next day either...
been fantasizing about breakfasts in Japan lately...
...but I get to get out of town soon. hotel breakfasts here I come! ! !
